As a Surrey wedding photographer I get to shoot at some lovely venues, but I must say that it was a privilege to be shooting at Hampton Court again with Roger Brown. In terms of venues, it really doesn’t get any better than this!
We met the groom and his groomsmen at Ruffians barbers near Covent Gardens. What an amazing barber shop! I just loved the way it was decorated. After having photographed the guys, who were all in good spirits and enjoyed being pampered, we headed over to the Royal Society building where the girls were getting ready. The whole apartment was filled with the nervous energy, anticipation and plenty of laughter of 10 stunning ladies. So much fun! Once everyone was ready, it was time to head to The Queens Chapel of the Savoy, which is so beautiful inside. Unfortunately photography was restricted, but we still managed to get some nice shots.
After the service we all got onto 2 Route Master buses, destination Hampton Court. On arrival, the guests were ushered to the front of the palace for a drinks reception. The Hampton Court gardens are simply stunning and such a great place for portraits for the newlyweds. We were also given access to the Armoury room for a quick portrait, which was such a treat.
We finally headed to Henry VIII Great Hall where the wedding breakfast was going to be served. The room was breathtakingly stunning and I could imagine Henry VIII sitting at the head table (yes, I have a vivid imagination!)
After dinner, guests spent the rest of the evening in the palace courtyard, watching fire-eaters, having fun in a New York taxi photo booth and enjoying all sorts of delectable desserts from the dessert stands. An ice luge provided plenty of entertainment too.
This was a truly spectacular wedding on an epic scale and I am so glad I was a part of it!
