Windsor Engagement Photoshoot
Summer so far has certainly been a bit hit and miss so far, but we were very lucky with the weather for Neil and Alex’s pre-wedding shoot back in May. It turned out to be a glorious warm afternoon – just perfect! As Neil has a strong connection with the Windsor Great Park, we picked a number of scenic locations for this pre-wedding shoot. Whilst I normally pick a round-trip walking route, the distances were too great this time and so we hopped into the car to drive down to Windsor. Our first stop was amongst the impressive long line of trees growing on either side of the Long Walk near the castle. From there we headed to the top of the Long Walk near the Copper Horse, which affords sweeping views of the castle. This is also one of my favourite places to stop and sit for a while when I’m in the park.
I always end up lying or sitting on the ground when taking photos and this day was no exception. What I hadn’t realised, was that patches of tar on the road had melted and my jeans got stuck for a second when I attempted to get up. Needless to say, I still have those tar patches on my jeans – they will forever more remind me of this shoot in the park and have now become my ‘photography jeans’!
Our next stop and final stop was the beautiful Valley gardens – the azaleas that flower this time of year are an absolute riot of colour and I defy anyone not to smile on seeing them all in full bloom. I had such a great afternoon – good company, good weather, great scenery. I couldn’t have asked for more!
