The Initial Meeting
When Patti and Scott first contacted me and asked for a meeting to discuss their Windsor Wedding, I suggested that we meet at the Macdonald Windsor hotel. Little did I know that this was the hotel they had already booked for their wedding reception. What a coincidence! The more we chatted about their big day and the plans they had made, the more I liked this gorgeous couple. I knew that I wanted to photograph their special day. Needless to say, I was over the moon, when I received a message a few hours later to say that they wanted to book me. As a Berkshire wedding photographer, Windsor is definitely a favourite location for me.
Windsor Wedding at the MacDonald Windsor Hotel
The months flew by so quickly and before we all knew it, the big day had arrived. A slight drizzle in the morning didn’t dampen anyone’s spirits and there was such a great vibe in Patti’s hotel room. As Scott is in the Coldstream Guards, it was great to see the changing of the guards from Patti’s room at the MacDonald hotel. It all added to the excitement of the morning. Patti’s bridesmaids looked absolutely gorgeous in their rose gold dresses and Patti herself took our breath away in her stunning gown. Time flew by all too quickly and before we knew it, it was time for me and the guests to head off to St. Edwards Catholic church in the route master bus.
After a wonderful ceremony and an exit to lots of bubbles, we all headed to the top of the Long Walk, where the big bus and taxi were briefly parked by the Two Brewers pub. Scott and his groomsmen in their uniforms were a real tourist attraction and I think many a tourist now has photos of the bridal party in front of Windsor castle! When I took Patti and Scott down the Long Walk for some portraits, we were also stopped by tourists, asking if they could please take a photo.
We eventually made our way back to the hotel for the drinks reception. A lovely dinner was followed by speeches and cake cutting and then the party started, and what a party it was!! I love it when people get onto that dance floor and party the night away and that was certainly the case here. We still went out for 2 night portraits before I left the party, which no doubt carried on well into the night.
Patti and Scott, it was a privilege capturing your special day and I want to thank you, your families and your guests for making me feel so welcome x
As a Windsor wedding photographer, I always get excited when I get enquiries for Windsor weddings. It is such a lovely place to get married and there are so many great locations for photos. If you are getting married in Windsor and you like what you see, I’d love to hear from you!
